Danijel Đekić is an exceptional chef who, along with his wife Tjitske, runs the restaurant Monte, the first Croatian restaurant to be awarded a Michelin star. Restaurant Monte was created on the foundation of a family story that began in 1985 with a traditional Istrian tavern owned by Danijel's parents. Danijel and his wife Tjitske, a renowned sommelier, who both consider food a way of celebrating life and an act of coming together, have transformed Monte into a true gastronomic oasis where tradition is still deeply rooted.
