On World Food Day, the third edition of the most important gastronomy festival in the region was announced.

Weekend Food Festival in Rovinj from April 19 to 21, 2024.

After two successful editions, the Weekend Food Festival will once again, from April 19 to 21, place Rovinj and Croatia at the center of the global gastronomic scene, gathering everyone for whom food is an integral part of their job, from the world’s best chefs to experts in gastronomy, the food industry, and hospitality, as well as all food enthusiasts who passionately explore the world of gastronomy. The festival has become synonymous with learning, enjoyment, and networking, offering all visitors the opportunity to immerse themselves in the richness and diversity of the gastronomic scene.

Massimo Bottura, Franco Pepe, Rasmus Munk, Dabiz Muñoz, Ricard Camarena, Eduard Xaturch, Ana Roš, Deni Srdoč, David Skoko are just some of the names that have filled the halls of the old Tobacco Factory in Rovinj with their performances. For the next year, the organizers announce even more programs, show cooking by guest chefs from the global and local scene, masterclasses, and a diverse food offer accompanied by entertainment, an essential part of this festival.

“The greatest success is that over the past two years we have managed to position ourselves as one of the most important gastronomic festivals in the region, standing alongside the biggest European festivals, considering the list of chefs and experts who have visited. This year, in addition to local and international chefs, the festival’s special focus will be on gathering professionals and experts from the food and beverage industry,” said Boris Kovaček, the festival director. He emphasized that this year, too, a large number of gastronomy enthusiasts, food bloggers, and foodies are expected.

During the three days of the tastiest festival in April, visitors will enjoy lectures and panel discussions, presentations by domestic and foreign exhibitors, performances by bar scene experts, show cooking, and participate in olive oil, wine, coffee tastings, and other workshops. The evenings, as before, will be reserved for the best combination of music, drinks, and food!

“The Weekend Food Festival is of great importance to the gastronomy scene as it enables the flow of ideas, exchange of experiences, and networking among gastronomy industry professionals. Of course, saying that the festival is exclusively dedicated to professionals would be a mistake because the Weekend Food Festival is the central event for all gastronomy enthusiasts and people eager for knowledge, information, and of course – entertainment. Croatia, as a country whose GDP significantly depends on tourism, needs this type of festival because it helps raise the qualitative bar, encourages excellence, and addresses the current issues of the gastronomy industry. The festival is an excellent platform for dialogue among all parties involved in creating the tourist offer,” said Mate Janković, a famous Croatian chef and a regular participant in the Weekend Food Festival.

The first two editions of the Weekend Food Festival placed Croatia and Rovinj on the map of the most influential European gastronomic events, gathering more than 2,500 visitors in one place. That’s why the Weekend Food Festival is a place of gathering, socializing, creating connections, and networking, in a relaxed atmosphere, with excellent food, drinks, and even better entertainment. This year, an even larger number of visitors is expected, and tickets are already on sale at www.weekendfoodfestival.com at a special early bird price!
