Gala dinners concocted by the best world and domestic chefs at the Weekend Food Festival

Rovinj is set to become the hub of the global culinary scene, as leading world and domestic chefs gather for the Weekend Food Festival. Within the award-winning restaurants of Rovinj, these chefs will prepare gala dinners that tantalize visitors’ taste buds. Karime Lopez and Takahiko “Taka” Kondo from Gucci Osteria da Massimo Bottura, Ricard Camarena, Joao Oliveira, Slovenian chefs David Žefran and Igor Jagodic, as well as the representative of New Balkan Cuisine, Vanja Puškar, will prepare themed dinners inspired by their own experiences and local ingredients. This impressive lineup of renowned chefs will be joined by equally talented domestic chefs, including Hrvoje Kroflin, Deni Srdoč, Jeffrey J Vella, Bruno Vokal, Tea Mamut, Maša Salopek, Marina Gaši, Saša Pribičević, and Luka Pavić.

Maistra, the general sponsor and partner of the Festival, will host gala dinners featuring the best world-renowned and domestic chefs at its esteemed restaurants. On Thursday, the evening before the Festival’s official start, the Cap Aureo restaurant will welcome guests to the “Best of Croatia” dinner, where a team of Croatian chefs led by Hrvoje Kroflin, Deni Srdoč, Maša Salopek, Marina Gaši, and Bruno Vokal, alongside host Jeffrey J Vella, will delight international guests, food experts, journalists, and chefs with their culinary creations inspired by the finest Croatian ingredients. The following evening, the Adriatic restaurant will host the highly anticipated Pescador dinner, where culinary maestro Ricard Camarena, known for his two Michelin-starred restaurant in Valencia, will partner with Marina Gaši from the Marina restaurant, Saša Pribičević from Rovinj’s Tekka restaurant, and the talented pastry chef of the new generation, Luka Pavić.

Experience three thrilling culinary journeys on Saturday. At the Cap Aureo restaurant in Rovinj, “La Dolce Vita” will bring the flavors of Italy to the table, prepared by chefs from Gucci Osteria da Massimo Bottura, Karime Lopez, and Takahiko “Taka” Kondo, along with host Jeffrey J Vella and pastry chef Tea Mamut. The Adriatic restaurant will feature a creative trio of chefs, Joao Oliveira from the Vista restaurant, Hrvoje Kroflin from Mano2, and David Žefran from the Slovenian restaurant Milka, who will showcase a harmonious blend of seafood and terrestrial ingredients through a themed dinner called ‘Mare e Monti’. Meanwhile, at the Wine Vault restaurant of the Monte Mullini hotel, you can indulge in the culinary prowess of young Croatian chef Deni Srdoč from the Nebo restaurant, Slovenian chef Igor Jagodic from the Strelac restaurant in Ljubljana, and a leading figure of the New Balkan Cuisine culinary movement, Vanja Puškar from Serbia.
