Participants will discover intriguing details about the Maraschino cherry, its terroir and the unique production process that gives Maraschino its distinctive character. Igor and Slaven will share little-known facts about its historical significance, including a list of famous admirers such as Ernest Hemingway, Charlie Chaplin and Orson Welles. The special focus of the masterclass will be on Maraschino as an indispensable ingredient of the bar scene to the golden age of the Maraschino in the 1920s and 1930s, when classic cocktails like the Last Word, Martinez and Aviation dominated the world bar scene – and when Maraschino was an essential part of high society drinks.
