Marko Markota is a restaurateur, importer, and producer of strong alcoholic beverages. After completing hospitality studies in Switzerland, where he simultaneously obtained a sommelier certificate, he returns to Croatia. Recently in Croatia, he opened Urania Bar with his partner Karlo Ferenčak, where they focus on elevating the quality of hospitality, as well as educating and developing young bartenders. Additionally, he initiated the project Gringos de Croatia, which gathers the best bartenders from Croatia and leads them on an educational trip to Mexico, so they can bring back and spread their newfound knowledge and love for Mexican distillates in Croatia.
