Karmen has a degree in nutrition from the Faculty of Food Technology and Biotechnology, University of Zagreb; and a Postgraduate Specialist Study in Phytopharmacy with Nutrition Therapy from the Faculty of Pharmacy and Biochemistry, University of Zagreb.
