Ivan Bobinac is a Gastro Specialist and Educator at Podravka, where he has been working for the past two months. He graduated from the Hotel and Tourism School in Opatija and has completed numerous culinary courses, ranging from Mediterranean to molecular cuisine. Although he is not currently pursuing formal education, he learns something new every day – at the moment, he's particularly interested in fermentation and flavor development. He gained experience through his family’s hospitality business, which included several restaurants in Croatia and a hotel in Switzerland. For the past 10 years, he has worked professionally as a chef, and in the last 6 years, he led kitchens in renowned hotels in Switzerland. He recently returned to Croatia with his family and continues to follow his passion for cooking – especially in creating sauces and fish dishes, which he prepares with great love. His advice to young chefs is to be dedicated, work hard, and learn from experienced mentors, because culinary knowledge built over years of hands-on experience isn’t easily shared. His personal motto: “Non sufficit orbis” – or in other words: the sky is the limit.
