A gastronomic publicist, Franko has been in the food business since 1980 when he prepared and edited the first Istrian cookbook. In 1996 he worked on the enogastronomic guide Istra Gourmet, which has been published every year since. As a gastronomic critic, from 2005 to 2009, he wrote regularly for Globus and Jutarnji list. From 2009 to 2011, he contributed to the magazine Iće i piće, and as a gastronomic reviewer and columnist he collaborates with the magazine "Wine & Gastro Academy". Since 2012, he has been the president of the Croatian Sommelier Club.
