When in 2017 the Michelin guide awarded a star to the previously unknown restaurant
Jordnær, it was a surprise to the entire Nordic restaurant scene. Just nine months
earlier, chef Eric Vildgaard and his wife Tina had opened Jordnær in the lobby of the
Gentofte Hotel in the suburbs of Copenhagen.
In Rovinj, chef Eric will tell an incredible story about the challenges he faced in his youth
and how his love for his wife and gastronomy put him back on the straight and narrow.
Today, Jordnær has a second Michelin star and numerous awards due to chef Eric’s
picturesque and delicious creations made from Nordic, French and Asian ingredients
that he combines in extraordinary harmony, while his wife Tina takes care of the top-
notch service.

Award”, and his restaurant was ranked 38th on the World's 50 Best Restaurants list in
2022.
