Boris Kovacčk and Tomo Ricov are the main organizers and conceptual initiators of the Weekend Media Festival, which is the most famous media conference in the region. Recognizing that the market lacked an event that would bring together top speakers from the gastronomy world, they decided to launch a Weekend Food Festival that could be considered the younger festival brother of the great WMF. It is a platform that simultaneously educates, inspires and networking caterers, producers and numerous gourmets from home and abroad.
An eminent gastronomic journalist and consultant to numerous restaurants – Hrvoje Petrić, is the director of the Weekend Food Festival program. He has written for all the influential national media from Iće i piće, through Dovra Food and Jutarnji List to Story Gourmet and Gloria Glam and Yachts Magazine. Hrvoje is an active participant in all the world’s most important gastronomy festivals and has written for prints and portals from Italy to China.
Matija Hrkać and Matija Belković Powlison are the creators of the Cogito Coffee brand, and in collaboration with them, we decided to create a Coffee Weekend – Coffee Festival. They are active participants in the development of the local and regional coffee scene, taking care of the quality of each coffee bean and each cup served. They give the coffee with care, emphasizing its seasonality and origin.
One of our expert associates is the best Croatian bartender and expert in the field of mixology with more than 20 years of experience. Marin is one of the pioneers of the Croatian cocktail scene, and together with Saša Lovrenščak, he runs the Barology Cocktail studio where he educates new generations of mixologists.
Our expert team also includes one of the most famous Croatian chefs – Mate Janković. He is known to the general public as a member of a jury of well-known culinary shows such as “Masterchef”, “Tri, dva, jedan -kuhaj!” and “Kuhan i pečen”. In addition, Mate is the editor of the excellent cookbook “Croatia – The Cookbook”, which is an account of indigenous Croatian gastronomy.
